In 1972, before starting high school, Mark began working construction on the Fountain Bleu subdivision for Gary Nagle. Working part time during school and in summer, he progressed from cleaning up worksites to carpentry and landscaping.
Mark graduated from Cottonwood High School in Salt Lake City in 1975, and was married to Giselle in 1976. Their first and only child, Jessica, was born Aug 24, 1976. By that time, Mark was a full time framer for Rich Larson Construction.
In 1978, Mark got his contractors license and began framing as a subcontractor throughout the Salt Lake Valley. In 1980, Mark became a project superintendent for Mills Construction working on commercial buildings which included Rainbow Oil Gas Stations, Wendy's Restaurants, and commercial tilt up and pre cast structures for county governments and private business.
In 1984 Mark began work as an Estimator and Project Manager for Keller Construction. His work included a parking area for Triad Center, over 50 McDonalds Restaurants, and Post Offices in Nevada and Arizona. Mark completed contractor's license testing for Keller Construction in Colorado, California, New Mexico and Nevada and completed work for over $50 million in construction costs.
In 1992 Mark started his own general contracting company and began work on a 16,000SF residence in Alpine, Utah. Shortly after, Mark moved the company to Park City, UT and the company has since been adding key employees, vehicles, and equipment in an effort to maintaining careful, stable growth. Mark Huber Construction moved into our office at 1796 Prospector in March of 2001.
Giselle was born in Alexandria, Virginia, but was raised in Holliday, Utah where she attended Holliday Elementary, Olympus Junior High, and Olympus Senior High. Giselle became active in construction in 1978 when Mark first started framing. She did part-time bookkeeping while raising their daughter, Jessica.
In 1984, Giselle began working at Prudential Federal Savings. She started work at the 3300 South branch and eventually worked her way into the manager position at the Downtown Office.
Giselle has been doing all the payroll, banking, accounts payable, and taxes for Mark Huber Construction since the company started in 1994. Giselle handles the "money and the mail".
Brian was born and raised is Salt Lake City, UT. Many years back, Brian worked for Nagle Construction with Mark. He was employed as a crane operator and carpenter.
Brian has been working for Mark Huber Construction since 2001. Brian is thoughtful, careful, reliable, and is careful to complete the project right. His work truck is always clean and well organized, and he knows exactly where everything is. Quality control is important to him, and everything has to look just right before he is willing to call a project finished.
